About Jugey
Hi, I’m Julia! Most of my friends call me Jugey (what started as Julia, shortened to Juju, and we wound up at Jugey, pronounced joo-jee). Originally from Hornell, New York, I relocated to Providence Forge in 2019. I learned to bake at a young age as I watched my Italian grandmother make the classics for her family and her community. After graduating from college (go Penn State!), I realized that I missed the creative outlet that I found in the kitchen. What started as baking for my husband Joe turned into baking for friends and family as I ventured into a journey of teaching myself cake decorating. These days, I’m a Technical Program Manager in the defense sector, but by night you’ll find me covered in powdered sugar in the kitchen.
I founded Jugey Cakes Baking in July of 2019 as a way to embed myself in this community. In the years since, clients have become friends, my collection of sprinkles has grown substantially, and I’ve experienced the beauty of small business in a small town.
